Professor Patrick Olivier
Professor of Human-Computer Interaction

I am Professor of Human-Computer Interaction in the School of Computing Science at Newcastle University. I lead the Digital Interaction Group in Culture Lab, Newcastle's centre for interdisciplinary practice-based research in digital technologies.

Our main interest is interaction design for everyday life settings and I am particularly interested in the application of pervasive computing to education, creative practice, and health and wellbeing, as well as the development of new technologies for interaction (such as novel sensing platforms and interaction techniques).

To get an idea of the range of research I am involved in, take a look at the group's webpages at http://di.ncl.ac.uk where you will find:

Projects (generally projects that post-docs are involved in)

PhD Projects (a project that constitutes someone's PhD)

Things (stuff we've made)

Publications (the groups papers)

If you are interested in collaborating with our group, or being a visitor, researcher or research student here at Culture Lab then please contact me, Pete Wright, or anyone from the group.
