Machine learning for process optimisation in the printed circuit board industry

The project aims to develop novel machine learning applications to address the registration problem in the context of the fabrication of printed circuit boards. The project is funded by the TSB in collaboration with the XACT PCB Ltd, the world leader in providing integrated printed circuit board registration solutions. The predictive algorithms that we develop will help to scale up the current software product of the XACT PCB Ltd and improve the prediction of material distortions due to the fabrication process. The data that we use is highly heterogeneous and provides a challenging case for predictive machine learning methods. The project is expected to have a significant impact in the printed circuit board industry.
