Sustainability analysis of a smart grid communications infrastructure

We will conduct a pilot study designed to assess the feasibility of mathematical modelling in the design and development of policies for ensuring sustainable smart grids. The project brings together an interdisciplinary team from the Schools of Computing Science and Electrical and Electronic Engineering to participate in the sustainability modelling and analysis of the Newcastle University smart grid communications infrastructure. In it we will develop a configurable mathematically well-founded model that allows the formal analysis of smart grid communications infrastructures against a variety of sustainability requirements.
