Introduction

Dr Riddle delivers courses in requirements engineering, formal
specification and software development techniques at undergraduate
level; software engineering and high-integrity software development at
postgraduate level. He also coordinates the undergraduate placement
programme. Dr Riddle is a theme lead for the Software Systems
Engineering Initiative and task lead for work in dependability explicit metadata. Dr Riddle obtained his BSc in Computer Software Technology at the University of Bath in 1991, and completed a PhD at Bath in 1997 on the use of partial specifications and refinement theory to aid the process of explaining complex systems.
