Course: BSc Computer Science
The course appealed to me most out of those I’d looked at. The welcome feeling that the university gave me also contributed to my choice.
About your course
I think in the first two years, the teaching is good quality. Teaching in the 3rd year is beyond excellent, personal and fun.
I live in Spital Tongues (round the back of Castle Leazes) with 5 other people in a house. Accommodation is easy to sort out and there’s always somewhere to live. I’d recommend being close to the city.
Living in Newcastle
Newcastle has a great night out and lovely people. I also liked the cheapness of housing and the friendliness of people.
There are so many societies and clubs. I would always choose a society over a club, there is less commitment time needed, more relaxed , better socials, plus you can do all of them!
I am part of fellwalking society and it involves weekend trips away to Scotland and to The Lakes to climb mountains. The people are diverse and welcoming, and there are a lot of friendly people. There are cake socials, burns night, Christmas dinner, a ball in a castle etc. The list goes on. Societies are awesome.
To work as a project manager for programmers. Doing the career development module helps as I can progress my management skills with that.
