Great North Run Accommodation
Newcastle University will be offering its student accommodation for runners and spectators of the Great North Run 2012.
Bookings for Castle Leazes Halls can be booked either direct, or in the case of standard rooms, through Nirvana Europe. Nirvana's offer will also allow the attendee to take advantage of their other services such as the Race Transfer Service and cancellation insurance (these are not available when booking direct with the University). Bookings for our site at Henderson Hall will only be available through Nirvana.

Castle Leazes Halls
This University residence is situated in Spital Tongues, a 10-15 minute walk from the GNR start line.
Parking is limited and will be available on a first come/first served basis. Once onsite parking is full our Reception staff will direct you to alternatives.
Social facilities on the site include dining rooms, TV rooms, games room, snooker room, shop (open Saturday only), vending facilities and launderette. There is also a fully licensed bar on site (open Saturday night only).
A late check-out of 5pm is offered on Sunday 16th September with all rooms.
There are four types of accommodation available on the Castle Leazes site:
Standard Single Rooms - Single study bedrooms, offering basic, good value accommodation. The rooms have a wash hand basin and shared shower and bathroom facilities. All bedrooms are double-glazed with thermostatically controlled central heating. Please note that as rooms have shared facilities, floors are usually single gender only. However, if you are happy to share bathroom facilities with members of the opposite gender a few areas will be mixed. Price - £27.50 per night B&B.
Higher Grade Standard Singles – Single study bedrooms with wash hand basin and shared shower and bathroom facilities. These rooms have a higher grade of fittings and furnishings than the basic rooms. Due to the low number of these rooms available all floors will be mixed gender. Price £30.00 per night B&B.
Fully Booked
Single ensuite – Single study bedrooms with an ensuite shower pod. Rooms are arranged in flats of 7 or 10. Each flat incorporates a fully equipped communal kitchen/lounge/dining area, complete with Freeview TV. Price £45.00 per night B&B.

Double ensuite – larger ensuite rooms with double bed. Rooms may be located within a 7 bed flat or alternatively on a floor with other rooms of the same spec. Price £55.00 per night.

Bed linen, towels, welcome packs and complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in all bedrooms.
Hairdryers are available from Castle Leazes main Reception, a £5 deposit will be required.
Free wi-fi is available in central areas at Castle Leazes. Information and password vouchers can be obtained from Reeption.

Catering
Breakfast is included for every booking.
An evening meal will be available on the Saturday night at a cost of £6.95. This can be booked when reserving your accommodation, or alternatively tickets will be on sale at Castle Leazes reception.
