Sports Centre
Newcastle is proud of its position as one of the top ten universities in the country for sport with outstanding indoor and outdoor facilities.
The Centre for Physical Recreation and Sport boasts two fitness suites and full of state of the art cardiovascular and weights equipment. The fitness suites are also equipped with a cardio theatre system with multiple channels for users to choose their own viewing/listening during their workout.
Their are two large multi purpose activity spaces that can be merged into one extra large space if needed.
Additional facilities include:
- mirrored studio for dance and martial arts training.
- large sports hall that can be divided up into six badminton courts or two 5-a-side / basketball / netball/ volleyball courts.
- four fully refurbished and updated squash courts
The Sports Centre is situated between The Paul O'Gorman Building and Richardson Road Flats on the site of the old Claremont Sports Hall.
