Weddings
During summer vacations Newcastle University can offer a choice of venue for your Wedding Reception. We are able to suggest wedding packages to suit a range of styles and budgets. Our friendly teams will work closely with you, offering advice on menus, drinks, and room layouts, ensuring your day is special and memorable. We will be pleased to discuss any special arrangements or suggestions you may have.
All venues can offer function rooms with additional rooms giving you flexibility for your event.
Wine lists are available for each of our venues, and all venues are able to offer fully-licensed bars.
Civil Ceremonies
As well as hosting wedding receptions, Henderson Hall is also able to provide a venue for your wedding ceremony. The Grade II listed Old Hall has a full licence for civil ceremonies. Wedding ceremony bookings are provisional until confirmation from the Registrar is received.
The Registrar must be in attendance at the ceremony and it is your responsibility to arrange this.
Kings Road Centre
The Lindisfarne Room within the Kings Road Centre can offer seating for up to 250, with a city centre location.
Accommodation Sites
Both catered Halls of Residence, Henderson and Castle Leazes, can offer wedding packages to suit individual requirements. Both can provide parking for your event.
Henderson Hall with its picturesque grounds, provides an excellent backdrop for your wedding photographs. Up to 120 people can be accommodated for your Wedding Breakfast, or up to 200 for a buffet, hot or cold, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Hall is also able to offer facilities for your evening function, either at the Hall itself or at the adjacent Cochrane Park Pavilion.
Castle Leazes Halls can offer two large dining rooms accommodating up to 200 guests, cabaret style, these together with adjoining bar area can accommodate anything from small, intimate buffets to much larger informal events or entertainment.
