Students who are likely to be eligible to attend the December 2013 ceremonies will be contacted by email during week beginning 9 September 2013 and asked to complete the Graduation Form. The deadline to complete the form is 14 October 2013. Please do not wait until you have finished your course before submitting your form – it may be too late. All invited students should complete a form, whether or not they wish to attend a Congregation ceremony.
If you wish to attend the December 2013 congregations but you have not received an invitation email by 13 September 2013, you will be able to request login details by clicking here (this link will be made active on 13 September) so that you can apply to attend.
If you are reading this after 14 October 2013 and you have not applied to attend a December 2013 ceremony but wish to, please contact us - it may still be possible.
Completing the form reserves your place at a ceremony, but only students who have successfully completed their degree or course by 13 November 2013 and do not owe more than £100 to the University on that date will have their place confirmed. Confirmation of the place will be sent by email to students in late November 2013.
Postgraduate Research degree students should note that their name needs to appear on a pass list by 13 November 2013, and should bear this date in mind with regard to their examination by viva and subsequent submission of their hardbound thesis. Research students may seek advice from their School or Research Support Team in King's Gate Building to ascertain whether they are likely to appear on a pass list by this date.
Please note that the next opportunities to attend Congregation will be February 2014 (in Shanghai) and July 2014 (in Newcastle).
We also have checklists of what to do before the day and on the day of your ceremony.
