Parents and Guests

Whether you’ve visited our University before, or if this will be the first time you’ve been on our campus, we hope you'll have a thoroughly enjoyable day at Congregation.

This year’s summer Congregations take place from 11 to 21 July 2017 in the King’s Hall, Armstrong Building, Newcastle University.

Here is some key information to help you plan your trip to Newcastle and your time on campus. We look forward to welcoming you.

Ceremony schedule

Newcastle University’s small and intimate ceremonies are unique. View the schedule for the Summer 2017 Ceremonies.

Planning your day

View our On the Day schedule, to help you plan your day.  There will be signage on campus, so you shouldn't get lost!  Marshals will also be around to point you in the right direction.

Overview of the day

Candidates need to be on campus at least 1.5 hours before the ceremony start time. The first stop of the day will be to collect tickets and academic dress from the King's Road Centre.

You'll also be able to have official photographs taken.

The ceremony venue, Armstrong Building, will open for graduates and guests about 30 minutes before the ceremony start time.

Once the ceremony is over, there is a reception for all graduates and guests.
