There is no charge for candidates and up to two guests to attend a Congregation ceremony and the reception. This standard allocation of tickets is for King’s Hall (which includes the gallery area) and is guaranteed for all students who submit their Congregation application by 15 October 2012 and who indicate on their application form that they would like the 2 standard King's Hall tickets.
When completing the Graduation Form, students can apply for up to four extra guest tickets at a cost of £12 for King’s Hall and £7 for TV Relay (where the live ceremomy will be projected to a six-foot screen). The price of these tickets also includes entrance to the reception. Applicants should be aware that there is no guarantee that they will receive the number of tickets requested, the majority of extra tickets will be for the TV Relay room and a maximum of four can be requested.
You will be informed of your ticket allocation and how to pay (if applicable) by e-mail during week beginning 22 October 2012. Please note you must pay for these tickets by 5 November 2012. Any tickets which are not paid for will be removed from your allocation and may be allocated to someone else.
Tickets are not posted out but are available for collection by the candidate only, on the day of the ceremony. Please bring ID with you. The ticket desk will operate from 8.00am to 5.00pm every day during the congregation period.
The King's Hall in the Armstrong Building, where Congregation ceremonies are held, is named after King Edward VII, who performed the official opening in 1906. The Hall is also used for student examinations, concerts, and various meeting and gatherings.
Take a virtual tour of the King's Hall and Armstrong Building.
This is a lecture theatre (room 2.16 on the 2nd Floor in the Armstrong Building) which contains a large screen onto which we broadcast the Congregation ceremony as it is happening. Guests with tickets in this venue are invited to re-join the King's Hall guests at the reception after the ceremony. Please note that entry to this venue is by ticket only, and a ticket entitles the guest to a seat.
