University Staff
Congregations are an important day for candidates and their families. To ensure that each ceremony runs smoothly, it is essential that as many colleagues as possible kindly offer their valuable assistance and support.
There are two ways that staff can get involved:
- Academic Procession - Members of academic staff can take part in the Procession. Staff are encouraged to participate at those ceremonies where students they have taught or supervised will be presented. In order to register for the academic procession, please complete the on-line form as soon as possible, and no later than 22 November 2013.
- Marshals - Support staff can volunteer to marshal at the ceremonies. This involves a variety of roles including issuing tickets to candidates, welcoming guests, or hooding the candidates before they cross the stage. Refreshments will be available to marshals throughout the duration of the ceremonies, and meal vouchers are given as a thank-you for volunteering. Please complete the on-line form to register your interest in being a marshal.
Dates for upcoming ceremonies can be found in our
ceremonies timetable.
