Two CRE research students awarded Defra internships in 2010

Two CRE research students, Luke Dilley and Paul Cowie, have been selected to undertake 3 month ESRC internships

CRE PhD student Luke Dilley has been selected for a three month Defra/ESRC internship. The internship is to be based at Defra’s Sustainable Behaviours Unit in London. While the exact nature of the work is still to be decided it has been suggested that it will revolve around:

  • Reviewing literature in relation to the concept of ‘Trust’ and its relationship to environmental behaviour, and;
  •  Reviewing Defra’s evaluations of three previous community action funds.

Paul Cowie's internship is with the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills based in their Economic Policy Analysis Unit in London. This work will involve the production of an evaluative model to allow an early assessment of the impact that business support is having on the economy, to complement the post hoc evaluative  models that are currently being used. The work will include a review of models used in other countries whcih may be used in England.
