Research Assistant/Associate in Rural Policy Evaluation

A part-time research assistant/associate is required for a project linked to the UK’s Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus (CECAN). You will be a social scientist who will work closely with colleagues at Newcastle and across the wider CECAN team, engaging in in-depth, qualitative case study work to understand and inform the conduct, uptake and impact of policy evaluation. You will be closely working with policymakers, evaluators and evidence analysts including potentially short term placements/secondments. It will involve organising and undertaking qualitative fieldwork across a range of potential rural and environmental policy fields. This post is linked to the UK’s Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus (CECAN) (http://www.cecan.ac.uk/), a new multi-disciplinary research centre funded by the ESRC and NERC in collaboration with Defra, DECC, the Environment Agency and the Food Standards Agency. This post is available for 2 years fixed term and is part time at 50% FTE.
