The Cellular Therapies Facility encompasses clean rooms at the Centre for Life and within Haematological Sciences at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Professor Anne Dickinson is the overall Director of the joint facilities and works closely with two Clinical Directors – Professors Matthew Collin and James Shaw. All have significant experience of implementation of clean room products into the clinic.


The Cellular Therapies Facility holds the following licences/accreditation:

  • Human Tissue Authority (HTA) – Full licence (Designated Individual: Dr A Gennery)
  • MHRA –A Manufacturer's “Specials” Licence (MS) and a Manufacturer’s Authorisation for Investigational Medicinal Products (MIA) IMP Licence
