Appointment of Director of Culture Lab

It was announced yesterday that Professor Atau Tanaka has been appointed Director of Culture Lab for a period of five years with immediate effect.

Atau has been Acting Director for the last year and has steered Culture Lab expertly during that period, building on the strong foundations laid by his predecessor Sally Jane Norman. With the major £12m EPSRC-funded SIDE project now firmly embedded and the new MRes in Digital Media recruiting well, Culture Lab is well placed to play a major role in HaSS Faculty's future strategy.

Jamie Allen will continue in his current role as Assistant Director.
