Location: Culture Lab, Space 7
Time/Date: 28th January 2010, 12:00 - 13:00
Lunch Bites is a series of hour-long lunchtime conversations hosted in Space 7, Culture Lab featuring local and visiting thinkers and creators.
The topics are varied and various - anything our guest is currently thinking, creating or thinking of creating. Lunch Bites are part dialog, part skill-share, part knowledge - exchange and all for fun. No preparation, stress or pressure of any kind is implied or involved - we strive simply for an opportunity to facilitate casual meet-ups between the interesting and the interested.
Bernhard Garnicnig will introduce results from his
query into the field of sonic expression for examples of deliberately
established interfaces for external influence and variable parameters
in sonic structures. This notion will continue to be important while
he presents some of his past projects, including the large scale
locative sound composition "Craving" Gottfried Haider and him
conceptually and technically implemented since 2006. Finally he will
share some recent attempts in understanding the world a little bit
better and is looking forward to discuss these with the audience:
About the relevance of location to musical experiences, the emergence
of mainstream prosthetic devices in contemporary sound cultures and
about his recent experience of playing a live concert with the ghost
of Luc Ferrari.
Lunch Bites are held the 1st Thursday of every month at 12 noon - come along with a sandwich and an open mind.
