As part of her degree Dawn studied in France for a year, at l’Université de Savoie, in Chambéry. During her final year at Newcastle University she took on the responsibilty of Vice-President for the Erasmus Society. Since graduating, she has worked in retail, completed several Business Administration course modules, as well as a month-long placement at the BBC in Manchester working in Information and Archives. She has worked at Newcastle University’s Open Access Centre on a casual basis both during and after her studies, including completing a digitisation project there as work experience. In addition, Dawn has most recently worked on a ‘Routes into Languages’ project based in the building.
Dawn is the only full-time member of the admin team, and as Culture Lab Receptionist and Facilities Coordinator is mainly responsible for manning reception, dealing with enquiries, organising room hire, purchasing and sales, advertising events and updating social networking sites as well as other administrative tasks.
