"Theorising Regional Development: the theoretical background of new concepts in Regional Studies"
May the 11th saw the last seminar, in Newcastle, of a research network funded by the Regional Studies Association. The activities of this network have been organised over the last three years by Pedro Marques, a Research Assistant at CURDS, together with Arnoud Lagendijk from Radboud University in Nijmegen (Netherlands) and Robert Hassink from the University of Kiel (Germany).

Recently, Professor John Goddard has been appointed academic leader of an EU Life Long Learning programme designed to improve regional co-operation between universities, private sector companies and local governments co-ordinated by the European Centre for Strategic Management of Universities (ESMU).
