A team from CURDS – including Mike Coombes, Andy Gillespie, Neill Marshall and Andy Pike – edited Regional Studies from 2005-2008. The CURDS team guided the journal to its highest citation impact performance of 1.797 in 2007, raising it up the journal rankings (18th to 13th in Geography; 13th to 5th in Environmental Studies) (Web of Science).
This was the first time the journal had returned to an editorial team following John Goddard and Tony Champion editorship of the journal from 1979 to 1984.
