Conservation Clinic

An undergraduate teaching clinic in action. Our recently refurbished and superbly equipped clinical areas optimise the student learning experience and the quality of care we provide. Students in this clinic will provide restorative dental treatments which aim to preserve teeth in healthy function, including periodontal (gum) treatment, endodontic (root canal) treatment and conservative dental treatment (managing worn and decayed teeth with fillings). Notice the self-contained units in which our students work, many equipped with the latest operating microscopes.

Cell & Molecular Biosciences Laboratory

Students and staff at work in one of our well-equipped biological research laboratories. This area is home to many of our postgraduate research students and to many of the Dental students who choose to take time out and study for an intercalated science degree. The close proximity of clinical and research areas in our school provides questions for researchers to answer and answers that enrich our clinical teaching.

Children’s Clinic

A dental examination in our recently refurbished Children’s clinic. Everything is designed for the care of children and to make them feel relaxed and welcome. Notice the art-work on the windows and the spacious units that allow parents to sit-in.

Clinical Skills Unit

Small-group teaching in our bright and spacious simulation unit. Here, our Dental students work alongside Hygiene and Therapy students to learn practical skills on plastic and extracted teeth before moving into the clinic. It is important to get into good habits from the start, and the Unit works as a clinic under the watchful eye of clinical teaching staff and a  senior dental nurse.

Fell Cluster

An open session in one of our large PC clusters. The Fell cluster is situated at the entrance to the School and provides secure 24/7 hour access.

Dental Learning Resource Unit

An orthodontic teaching session underway in our recently-refurbished Learning Resource Unit. The Unit has excellent AV facilities and allows our students access to a broad range of electronic learning resources. In spare moments, you can enjoy fabulous views across the Town Moor and the north of the city.
