We are delighted that our QS World University Ranking has moved up by 5 places this year ranking the Newcastle School of Dental Sciences 32nd in the world.  This reflects our world-class teaching and research and the whole team’s commitment to be world leaders in Oral Health and Oral Health Care.  The QS evaluate 4438 Universities world wide and base their ranking on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. Last year, Newcastle University became one of only 17 universities in the world, and only two in the UK, to achieve five plus QS Stars from QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the first international assessment of its kind.

Anna Davies, a stage-five Dental student, said: “The teaching quality is excellent within the Dental School – you have leading world experts giving you lectures on their specialist subjects. There are also a lot of dentists that come in to supervise clinics this allows you to get advice and teaching from several different sources.

“Every student has a personal tutor for their five years within the dental school. You can go to your personal tutor for advice and help throughout your time at the dental school in addition to meetings that are scheduled during the year. This allows you to get to know your tutor well and they can offer any advice you may need.”
