Home to almost 500 undergraduate students and a thriving postgraduate community for taught and research programmes, we provide world-class education in an environment that is welcoming, stimulating, supportive and well-resourced.
Our teaching is underpinned by staff who are involved in research, scholarship and clinical practice. Full-time clinical teachers have dual appointments with the University and the NHS, and provide specialist dental services within the Dental Hospital. Many of our part-time teachers are high-street dentists and bring with them a wealth of experience from General Practice, greatly enriching our learning environment.
We have great staff-student relations, and an understanding that the care and support of our students is paramount.
The School builds on over 100 years of experience and continues to develop; enhancing the quality of our teaching and improving the learning experience for our students.
We have outstanding facilities for laboratory-based scientific investigation, clinically-based research, and high-end postgraduate clinical training.
Added to that, we are intrinsically linked with our adjoining Medical School, with its world-leading institutes of Ageing and Health, Cell and Molecular Biosciences, Cellular Medicine, Health and Society, Genetic Medicine, Nutritional and Stem Cell Research.
