Dr Francis Nohl has 15 years experience of the surgical and prosthodontic aspects of implant dentistry in hospital and private practice settings. He is supported by a highly motivated team of clinical/academic specialists.
This 18 month part-time programme provides dental practitioners and an accompanying dental nurse with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to plan, treat, and maintain a range of partially and fully edentate patients using dental implants. Patients are provided by the School.
Graduates have gone on to carry out implant surgery and prosthodontics in their own practices. The programme comprises approximately 45 days attendance and aims to fulfill requirements of Training Standards in Implant Dentistry UK (2012) at the level of straightforward placement of implants.
The programme consists of two modules: Theory and Skills Training in Implant Dentistry using seminar based learning and extensive hands-on skills development, followed by Clinical Skills Training and Practice in Implant Dentistry comprising patient assessment, surgical placement of implants, and restoration of implants at Newcastle Dental Hospital.
