NHS Hackathon

Cloud Innovation Centre Co-sponsor NHS Hackathon

We were delighted to co-sponsor the 14th NHS Hack Day on 1-2 October, as part of our Cloud Innovation Centre engagement work.  The event, held at The Core in Newcastle on October 1 and 2, challenged participants to discuss and dream up innovative solutions that might benefit the health service. Hosted by clinician & Community Dentist Rebecca Wassall and colleagues, the hackathon attracted over 100 attendees across the weekend.

The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm, as clinicians worked alongside programmers and service users. All the teams worked tirelessly across the two days, with prizes going to PaLREP, Dysbit, WETFLAG and My Surgery. John Hill documented the event, interviewing participants on their reasons for being involved.

Full coverage of the event can be found on our Cloud Innovation Centre storify page.

With thanks to Tom Jackson for the event photography.

We look forward to more collaborations, developing our research with clinicians and public sector organisations.
