Paul Watson Awarded Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering

We are delighted to announce that Professor Paul Watson, DI Director, has been named as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

This is an award of the highest distinction for contributions - sustained over decades - to the foundations and practice of computing as an engineering discipline. Paul’swork has advanced both the foundations and successful application of parallel and cloud computing. Paul has led on a number of high profile initiatives: the Social Inclusion through the Digital Economy hub, the CDT on Cloud Computing for Big Data, and most recently the creation of the National Innovation Centre for Data.
