The key parts of the structure for decision making and consultation on Equality and Diversity matters in the University.
The Diversity Committee is responsible for promoting equality, diversity and best practice across the University. It makes reports and makes recommendations to other groups such as Council and Executive Board. It monitors compliance with legislation and oversees the publication of the Equality and Diversity Annual Report. The Chair is nominated by Executive Board.
The membership includes the Registrar or an appointed representative, a lay member who is appointed by Council and is not a University employee, the Executive Director of Human Resources, and other University and Union Society officers.
The current chair is Professor Vicki Bruce.
Forthcoming meetings:
The Diversity Consultative Group acts as a forum for diversity issues across the University, including the Union Society. It reports and makes recommendations to the Diversity Committee, via the Chair.
The membership includes representatives from staff networks such as the Disabled Employees Network and Mosaic, the Union Society, Student Wellbeing and Unions.
The current chair is James Johnston, Development Manager in DARO.
