- Business Development Adviser
Highly motivated and dynamic team player wanted to join our energetic Business Development Team. Must have 5-7 years experience. GCSEs in English and Maths essential.
Words like 'dynamic' or 'energetic' could imply to a candidate that you're looking for someone young. Conversely, words like 'mature' or 'established' could suggest to a younger candidate that you're only interested in older applicants.
It's no longer acceptable to state the number of years experience as a criterion for a role. It's best practice to focus on the skills that are required for the job, rather than the number of years experience.
Requesting GCSEs suggests that you are excluding any applicants who went to school before GCSEs were introduced.
