Tuesday 4th March, 2008, at St. James Park Football Ground, Newcastle This conference will use research and practice perspectives to explore thinking skills, learning to learn, learning beyond the school gates, professional development and personalised learning and multi-agency working. This conference is the second to be run by the Research Centre for Learning and Teaching at Newcastle University which has a national reputation in research in thinking and learning and responds to requests for further opportunities to explore innovative and successful practice as well as to tap into expertise in the field. Newcastle University has recognised expertise in the variety of ways it has worked in research-based partnerships with teachers, schools, LAs and other organisations in areas such as Thinking Skills, Learning to Learn, and professional enquiry into learning innovation. This conference builds on this knowledge and provides opportunities for delegates to listen to and find out more about how your organisation can benefit from committing to a thinking and learning based model of teaching and development.
