Network for Languages North East and the North Leadership Centre have partnered once again with the Association for Language Learning and Routes into Languages North East to run the European Day of Languages competition for schools and further education colleges.
Following last year’s great response not just from the North East region but also from across the country, the organisers are delighted that this year’s competition is going national. In addition, the response from local and national organisations to sponsor prices for the winning entries has been fantastic.
Now it is over to all language teachers and language pupils/students in the country to take part in this challenge. The judging panel is already looking forward to receiving the entries.
René Koglbauer, long-standing member of the judging panel, and Director of Network for Languages North East, housed in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences at Newcastle University, stated at the official launch. “This competition focuses on celebrating the linguistic diversity of our young generation! We are delighted that 15 years after the inception of the European Day of Languages by the European Commission, our North East competition has grown from strength to strength and entries are welcome from all over the United Kingdom.”
The deadline for entries is the 7th October. Winners will be announced in the first week of November.
