The North East Aphasia Centre
The North East Aphasia Centre is a joint venture between Newcastle University and local Speech and Language Therapy departments. The Aphasia Centre was initially set up as a research project investigating the effectiveness of intensive therapy. This research project was funded by the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia and the trust continue to provide some financial support to the Centre. The Centre provides intensive therapy to people with aphasia, and is part of an active research environment in aphasia at Newcastle.
