Clients attend the centre for four sessions during each week, and are involved in both individual and group therapy. They all experience difficulties communicating, but these are wide ranging. The types of communication difficulties include:
Clients need to be at least three months, post-onset on initial assessment, but there is no upper ceiling as long as clients are motivated and their language shows the potential for change.
Referral to the Aphasia Centre is via the client's current Speech and Language Therapist.
