Children eligible for the clinic include those children whose literacy skills do not reflect their overall ability and, children with a family history of literacy difficulties. Children may or may not have a history of speech and/or language difficulties.
The children who have attended the Clinic to date have come from a variety of backgrounds. The age of children has ranged from 6 to 14 years. These children have presented with a range of different literacy deficits, both with and without spoken language and/or speech difficulties. We actively encourage liaison with school staff to ensure the integration of therapy programmes that reflect each child’s educational, social and emotional needs.
