Coursework

There are three Level M academic assignments:

  • The Teaching of Number (10 Credits)
  • The Teaching of Reading, Speaking and Listening (10 Credits)
  • The Reflective Practitioner (40 Credits)

Teaching Placements

Progress and performance are assessed by staff in the Partnership Schools and University tutors. Criteria for success are based on the standards required for Qualified Teacher Status, and judgements reflect progress made over time rather than in any one-off examination lesson. Judgements are made on the basis of:

  • Observations of trainees
  • Scrutiny of trainees' school based files
  • Weekly tutorials with school based mentors
  • Action Planning and Target Setting

A cross-section of students is visited by external examiners.
