Except in exceptional circumstances candidates for the PGCE/MEd should have:

  • 2.2 Honours degree or above in any subject.
  • GCSE or O Level passes (grades A-C) in English Language and maths and a science subject or equivalent qualifications before you apply
  • a minimum of 2 weeks in a UK primary classroom before submitting an application
  • on accepting the offer of a place, you must apply to the Criminal Records Bureau ( CRB) for an enhanced disclosure and complete a declaration of health for entry to teacher training (further details will be provided by the university).

It is expected that you will reside within 20 miles of the University during the course.
