Research

The School of Education, Communication & Language Sciences has a range of multidisciplinary staff which includes teachers, psychologists, linguists, speech and language therapists, sociologists and media, communication and cultural studies specialists. Research in the School is wide ranging. It addresses theoretical as well professional issues and a significant proportion is interdisciplinary, inter-institutional and international.

Many research projects are are coordinated by the School as a whole. We gained a 5A grade in Linguistics (Speech & Language Sciences and Applied Linguistics) and a 4A in Education in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
