The work of the Research Centre for Learning and Teaching builds on the work of two previous research centres in the former Department of Education: the Centre for Teaching for Understanding and the Thinking Skills Research Centre. It also acknowledges recent developments in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences in refocusing the research activities of the school and therefore forms the hub of one of the key research areas.
