This new monthly publication from Optimus Professional Publishing includes topics such as learning to learn, learning styles, pupils as researchers, personalised learning and thinking skills. It aims to cover developing approaches to teaching and learning that are being currently being implemented in secondary schools.

The Learning and Teaching Update is aimed at keeping teachers and schools in touch with these pedagogical innovations, providing an evidence- and school-based approach to informing on their application to different contexts around the country. Many schools now have teaching and learning coordinators and teaching and learning groups who are tasked with keeping ahead of developments and to facilitate innovation, enquiry and evaluation into teaching and learning across the school. This update will provide a resource for these individuals to do so. It will aim to locate innovations within the policy and practice fields, making connections and contextualising.

The following is a list of just some of the articles which will be included in issues:

•Report on the progress of the Gilbert Review into Teaching and Learning in 2020

•Implementing school-wide learning innovations from the perspective of a teaching and learning coordinator

•Tackling barriers to learning: extended schools

•The Teaching and Learning Research Project: findings and implications

•A critical investigation of learning styles

Published ten times a year, Learning and Teaching Update aims to ensure that teachers know about new teaching and learning policy and developments and make sure they are well informed and properly prepared to act in the right way at the right time.
