Summary

Best practice in working with adults with a learning disability promotes independence, choice, inclusion and involvement. Recent policy developments have increased the focus on INVOLVEMENT such that Adults with a Learning Disability and complex communication difficulties are becoming involved in more complex and more important decisions about their lives and care. Using a problem-based learning approach, this module will provide participants with a forum for exploration of these issues, addressing them at the level of individual intervention, environmental strategies and strategic level practice through discussion, group work and the completion of a project directly related to their workplace.
