Masters in Educational Research

The M.Ed in Practitioner Enquiry has continued to evolve to meet the needs of teachers and lecturers working in all phases of education and at every stage in their career. The modules on offer are considered innovative and professionally valuable by our students and external examiners alike. We now offer two pathways: one which is generic and focussed on teaching and learning, and the other which has a leadership focus. Students will be able to opt into the leadership pathway following successful completion of relevant modules. The course also benefits from strong links with the Research Centre for Learning and Teaching (CFLAT), and you can read more about this at http://www.ncl.ac.uk/cflat/.To view a copy of the provisional timetable for teaching in the coming year please use the folloiwng links (Draft full time schedule of modules, Draft part time schedule of modules) which may be useful at this point in planning what time you may require to take out of school depending on which modules you choose to study. Please note that it is provisional at this stage and will be finalised in time for the coming induction events. Please note that modules are subject to change and may be withdrawn or suspended at short notice if student numbers are low on a particular module. You will also be able to view the module guide for 2011/12.

As the course is part-time we aim to make registration and induction as straightforward as possible. There are no core modules as such, apart from EDU8995 Research in Practice which is compulsory for the Leadership pathway of the programme. You can take full or part time modules.
