Project:

Statistical Blind Source Separation

From October 2001 to October 2003
Project Leader(s): Dr S.S. Dlay, Dr W.L. Woo
Sponsors: Qinetiq

The principal aim of this project is to establish the framework for the fundamental theory for the development of new statistical tools to be used in Independent Component Analysis for blind source separation problems in practical scenarios for which the current methods are not properly equipped. Based on these studies, the project aims at developing new techniques and comparing their performance with existing methods using the most appropriate statistical measures. The new techniques will have direct application in broadband multiuser mobile radio systems, digital multimedia and biomedical signal processing areas such as EEG/MEG measurements of the event related to human systems.
