What have our NWE students said?

"NWE has helped me gain experience & confidence in a professional working environment, from the formal interview process to working with others in an office, neither of which I have done before. I now have a much better idea of what to expect in the future...great for the CV too." Ellie Dowding, Stage 2 Politics

“Having secured a placement at Exclusive Ltd, I can safely say that the NWE Scheme is a fantastic way to gain experience and learn new skills in a busy working environment. Its flexibility allows it to fit perfectly around my studies and I am supported the whole way. I would not hesitate to recommend applying for a placement, it’s something that you won't regret.” Rebecca Ashworth, Stage 3, Combined Honours

“Upon graduating with a Masters in International Multimedia Journalism, I took a shot at applying for a placement through the NWE programme in marketing - a discipline I had not studied before. I can honestly say it has taught me so much. As an international student, working in a local SME has given me an invaluable insight into a local business in the North East and B2B marketing experience of the region. I would recommend any international student to give it a try! Don't hold back -language and communication will not be your downfall, as the University and NWE team are always there to help you!” Menglei Zhang, MA International Multimedia Journalism
