Back in October we reported on Ping Pong satellites being sent in to space. Read the full news item here "Satellite sent to space by 13-year old boy (BBC News) with the help of EEE Academic"
This morning we are happy to report that the Ping-Pong Satellites have landed safely (on Alton Horsfall's desk!) They travelled to a height of 80,449 feet / 24,531 meters. They were on flight 'A69' see the pictures and certificate below.
We also have a video of their trip courtesy of JP Aerospace.
Now the job of getting the data and results analysed begins.
This is part of the British Science Festival, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is looking to work with local schools to design, build and fly satellites to 120,000 feet to answer scientific questions. This is influenced by the 'Ideas Take Flight' concept which is being used for the festival.
