Silicon waferThe School places great emphasis on the development of the broad range of skills sought by employers, and these are gained through a wide variety of learning experiences including industry based projects and presentations. The University Careers Service provides an extensive range of employment and vacancy information, and can offer guidance and support throughout your time here as a student and even after you leave.

The record of employment for graduates from the School is impressive with almost 92 per cent of UK graduates of known destination entering work or further study in the last two years, compared to a national figure of 88 per cent. In recent years, this has involved students working in engineering research and development, design, production and manufacturing engineering, finance, consultancy and information technology, for a wide range of local, national and international organisations, such as BT, Ericsson Mobile Communications (UK) Ltd, Deloitte & Touche, London Underground Ltd, Motorola Ltd, National Grid, Nokia, Nortel and Rolls-Royce plc.

According to a recent survey by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), vacancies for graduates are predicted to rise by 15 per cent overall with electronic and engineering firms at the top of the table, recruiting the highest number of graduates.
