Cross-disciplinary Collaboration

The ETM Group has links to many other schools and research groups at Newcastle University as well as links to many other research groups both in the UK and world-wide. Activities include:

  • nanoLAB - a designated research centre specialising in nanoscience and technology. nanoLAB brings together internationally leading expertise at Newcastle University in order to leverage new applications of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
  • AIMPRO - a technique for calculating structural, electrical, optical and mechanical properties of molecules.
  • eFutures - a UK-wide EPSRC funded network based at Newcastle which aims to consolidate the academic community engaged in all aspects of electronics research in a bid to address the major challenges of the future.

Industrial Collaboration

The Group is always eager to collaborate as fully as possible with industry in the UK and worldwide. Consultancy and collaborative opportunities include:

  • short-term consultancy - evaluation, development or testing activities
  • long-term collaboration - leading-edge research and development

The ETM group already collaborates with a number of companies and is closely linked with both the National Microelectronics Institute and the Electronics Knowledge Centre (part of the ESP KTN) Trade Associations. Companies which already have collaborations with the ETM group are as follows:
