Biography: Dr Chen was awarded his PhD degree in Communication Engineering by Newcastle University in 2008. Previously, he was awarded a BSc degree in Applied Physics by Jinan University of China and a MSc degree in Communication and Signal Processing (with distinction) by Newcastle University. He was a UK government Overseas Research Scholarship (ORS) recipient for his PhD engagement. After his PhD, he worked as a Research Associate with Prof. Rolando Carrasco, carrying out an EPSRC funded project collaborated with Cambridge University led by Dr Ian Wassell. After completing his post-doc engagement in January 2010, he returned to China as a Lecturer with the School of Information Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. Currently, he also holds a visiting lectureship with Newcastle University.
