Research Interests

Wireless Solutions for Healthcare (WISH):

  • Biomedical electromagnetic imaging including: microwave systems for contrast-agents-assisted biomedical imaging; advanced signal processing for microwave cancer detection and lesion classification; waveform design for microwave medical imaging; broadband and compact antenna design for near-field imaging; tissue phantom manufacturing and measurements
  • Nano-inspired applications of electromagnetics in medical imaging, sensing, therapy and infomation processing
  • Channel modeling, system design, and information processing for cognitive joint radar-radio-sensor systems in wireless medical networks 

Wireless Channel Characterization:

  • Spatio-temporal wireless network channel models for emerging networking paradigms such as radar, relay, sensor, and mobile ad hoc networks
  • Wireless channel models for various data transmission schemes with different bandwidths, antenna patterns, channel variations, and environments of operation

Wireless Communication Theory:

  • Relay and sensor network tomography
  • Channel capacity of correlated relay networks
  • Diversity and degrees-of-freedom for multiple-antenna systems
  • Diversity analysis for distributed antenna systems
