Gokhan

My course has lived up to my expectations. Lectures are all backed up with lab sessions and it gives the students a clear understanding of the subject.

Shocksoc (Newcastle's student society for electrical engineers) is a great society for social events where you can meet students on your course who you might not get to meet day to day.

The lecturers are very enthusiastic about the course, which rubs off on all of the students.

I really enjoy the practical aspect of my course. We're currently working in teams to build a sound transmitter and I have received a lot of practical support from the lecturers in how to build it and use the equipment safely.

When I visited Newcastle for the first time I really fell in love with the University and city centre. The people are really friendly and make you feel welcome. I really like the fact that the University buildings are very much together in one place giving the feel of a campus uni in the city centre.

I come from a trade background and was concerned I would not be able to relate any of my electrician training to university studies. It is comforting to learn some academics do come from industry and taught lectures are explained with real world examples.

The University allows the students to have a gap year to go on placements and studying abroad. The lecturers are very knowledgeable in the field that they teach as they are all researchers in their respective fields.

A city campus was what I was looking for and the Students Union looked awesome, even more so now since the refurbishment. Basically Newcastle University seemed like a fun place to be, as well as having a huge range of sports and incredible nightlife!

The lecturers provide everything we need. We can email them or ask them questions after the lectures and they are happy to help. They provide us with really good information.
