The Robinson Library is home to a collection of over 1000 films, and local resources include an archive of early film ephemera in Tyne & Wear archives.

The School of English has a number of HD digital cameras and accessories available for loan to students enrolled in documentary film modules, as well as a Mac-based digital editing suite running the video editing industry-standard, Final Cut Pro.

The Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences houses Culture Lab, a complex for creative practice which includes a stock of digital video cameras, video and audio production studios, digital editing suites, and motion-capture, animation, and sound-mixing technology.

Newcastle has strong links with the Tyneside Cinema, and our joint events include the Book Club, while students on the MA in Film: Theory & Practice have the opportunity to study cinema management at the Tyneside.
