SELLL student Lauren Aspery wins poetry prize!

English Literature first year student Lauren was recently awarded a prize in the 17-25 category of the Terry Kelly Poetry Prize.

The prize was judged by local poet Tom Kelly, and University of Sunderland lecturer Alistair Robinson, and has been published in the Tom Kelly Poetry Prize 2017 Anthology.  Lauren took the optional module Introduction to Creative Writing as part of her degree course this year.  

The poetry prize was organised by Arts, Culture and Education at The Customs House, South Shields.
